Doorways Of Destiny – Trailer #
Doorways Of Destiny is a 3D puzzle game set in a surreal environment, developed during the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.1.
The game was created in response to the jam’s theme, “What’s behind the door”, which I felt was a perfect fit for a puzzle-based experience. To enhance the atmosphere, I added subtle creepy elements to create tension and curiosity, while deliberately avoiding jump scares or traditional horror mechanics.
Instead, the focus lies on exploration, mood, and unsettling environments that encourage players to think about what might be waiting beyond each doorway.
Conclusion #
This was my first game jam, and placing in the top 100 out of nearly 800 entries was a very rewarding result. Beyond the ranking, the experience taught me a lot about rapid game development, decision-making under time pressure, and iterative design.
Throughout the project, I also learned several new Unity and C# techniques, making this jam an important milestone in my game development journey.
